Chelsea Football Club and head coach Enzo Maresca have mutually agreed to part company after a challenging period for the team. The decision comes following a downturn in results and a breakdown in the relationship between Maresca and the club’s leadership.

Maresca leaves Stamford Bridge with some notable achievements during his time in charge, including winning the UEFA Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup. Despite these successes, Chelsea have struggled for consistency in the Premier League, managing only one win in their last seven league matches, which contributed to mounting pressure on his position.

The club announced that both parties believe a change in leadership gives Chelsea the best chance of returning to positive form as they continue to compete in multiple competitions, including the battle for Champions League qualification.

Chelsea are now expected to begin the search for a new head coach, with interim options likely considered while a permanent replacement is identified.
