President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians to embrace unity and resilience as the nation moves into 2026, pledging renewed efforts toward inclusive economic growth and improved national security.

In his New Year message, President Tinubu acknowledged the challenges Nigeria faced in the past year, including economic pressures and security concerns across various regions of the country. He expressed gratitude for the resilience of citizens while outlining government priorities aimed at strengthening stability and expanding opportunities for all Nigerians.

Addressing Nigerians directly, the president emphasised the need for “collective responsibility” in driving the country forward, reassuring citizens that the government is committed to policies that promote economic recovery, job creation and broader participation in national development.

On security, President Tinubu said the government remains focused on enhancing the capacity of security agencies and strengthening community partnerships to tackle threats such as terrorism, banditry and kidnapping. He reiterated that lasting peace and safety are central to the country’s progress in 2026.

The president also highlighted ongoing efforts to ensure food security, boost local production and support small business growth as part of broader economic reforms designed to benefit a larger cross-section of Nigerians.

In closing, President Tinubu called on Nigerians to uphold peace and unity, urging citizens to work collaboratively with government efforts to build a more secure and prosperous future.
